Our main goal is to produce calves that are healthy, solid and ready to perform in the next phase.
Calves are purchased from sale barns across the state of Florida. To ensure the health of the animals, we have a thorough vaccination protocol for incoming cattle: respiratory vaccines, parasitic treatment regime, performance enhancement application, metaphalaxis treatment, branded and dehorned/castrated, if needed.
All incoming cattle are put on starter ration, high in protien, containing a coccidiostat, minerals, and salt. It is fed for approximately 2-4 weeks towards 3% body weight. The calves are then moved gradually to a grower ration, higher in energy and containing an ionophore, minerals, salt, etc. All cattle groups maintain this ration throughout their time here with steady, consistent bumps daily/weekly approaching their target ship weight approx 90-100 days after arrival.
When the calves leave here they are healthy, strong and ready to enter the final stage for fattening in the feedyard. We take pride in knowing that we play a part in putting together semi-loads of cattle that will perform for our customers at the next level. We do everything we can to ensure that upon arrival out west the cattle meet both the contract and expectations.
